Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chipset release schedule postponed
Qualcomm’s latest chipset is rumored to launch in Q2 2022 as the epidemic isn’t over yet.
Planned release of the latest chipset from Qualcomm It is rumored to be postponed to the second quarter of 2022. Originally, the chipset, called Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, was supposed to be launched later this month.
A whistleblower from China revealed that the platform will most likely be present in the second half of 2022. Start from page GSMArena (October 5th) the rumor was also confirmed by the Digital Chat Station. The reason is the epidemic state and situation still taking place in China today.
Based on information obtained by Digital Chat Station, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the first mobile phone that will use Qualcomm’s latest chip. This comes from the good relationship that is being built between Lenovo and Qualcomm.
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro phone or Edge X30 released in China is expected to be the first generation to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+.
Although the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ name is still a suggestion as of now, one hopes that this one chip will see a GPU upgrade. The CPU itself remains the same as the current flagship, namely a Cortex-X2 clocked at close to 3GHz, three Cortex-A710 units for performance and four Cortex-A510 cores for efficiency.
